Honestly, this was another excruciatingly slow issue of this series.  I’ve gotten somewhat used to the slower fill-in issues that ultimately pay off in the larger scheme of things, but it’s getting a bit old, especially considering that we’re still chomping at the bit for Rick (or someone) to take down bad guy Negan, who killed fan-favorite Glenn in issue #100.

We do get a glimpse of Rick and company’s plotting and further evidence of Negan’s unhinged nature.  Pain in the butt Spencer’s storyline comes to an unexpected climax, but I’m not complaining.  That guy was a douche.

The most interesting aspect of this issue was the revelation of Negan’s feelings about Rick, which proved unexpected.

The zombie action was very light here, but we still got quite a bit of gore, in a different manner.

Am I just getting impatient?  Maybe.  This series has been so excellent in the past, but these “lulls” are getting tiresome.  I’m really anxious for Negan to get his comeuppance.  I’m antsy waiting for Rick to grow a pair.  This particular plot is just dragging too much.  It’s not as if the issue was badly written or illustrated.  The quality is there, but it was just incredibly slow.

Hopefully, as in the past, this lull will end up adding to the overall picture.  But sadly, this issue just left me wanting.
