Warner Brothers has released a featurette for ‘Beautiful Creatures’ just days before its release in theaters this February 14th. With clips delving a bit deeper into key plot points than the first two officially released trailers, this three-minute-long glimpse behind the scenes sits us down with director/screenwriter Richard LaGravenese (‘P.S. I Love You’), relative newcomers Alden Ehrenreich (“Ethan Wate”) and Alice Englert (“Lena Duchannes”), and a few key supporting characters.

Based on the novel of the same name, co-written by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, this film’s latest video features the near-miss accident that brings our dual protagonists together, and it’s just creepy enough to hook audiences into the supernatural world of Casters and make them want to see more. Whether or not the artificial southern accents change their mind will be up to them.

This southern paranormal romance seems well-situated to rival other films opening on Valentine’s Day, pitted against the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation, ‘Safe Haven,’ and, for those more antagonistic about the lovey-dovey holiday, ‘A Good Day to Die Hard.’

Fans of the book will welcome a glimpse at the masterful recreation of various pivotal scenes not yet revealed in other trailers, but may gasp at the spoiler hidden in plain sight during an actor interview. Perhaps other moviegoers won’t notice…

Closing the featurette and having also been used to promote ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ and ‘Revenge,’ Florence and the Machine’s captivating ballad ‘Seven Devils’ solidifies itself in the hall of haunting melodies perfect for electrifying upcoming releases.
