‘Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters’ may not be a tentpole film but Paramount is sure marketing the movie like it was! Recently a second red band trailer was released and now two clips from the film can be seen.

The first clip has the siblings come across a house they all too familiar with and Hansel (Jeremy Renner) advising his companions not to eat the candy. In the second action packed clip, Gretel (Gemma Arterton) comes face to face with the evil sorceress Muriel (Famke Jansen).

‘Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters’ takes place 15 years after the fateful event in the siblings’ lives when they were lost in the woods. The film (which was directed and co-written by Tommy Wirkola) is a reimaging of the classic Brothers Grimm tale and while that story has the brother and sister returning safely home, this film shows how that event placed them on the course they are on now: as witch hunters.

The film obviously doesn’t take itself too seriously and it seems to have a very tongue in cheek tone which may be the film’s saving grace.

Let us know if ‘Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters’ is on your list of films to see this year!

‘Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters’ arrives in theaters on January 25th.
