One of the most entertaining and eclectic genre-mashed movie that has been making the film festival circuit has to be ‘John Dies at the End.’ The film made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year before it was picked up by Magnet for distribution. Now with the VOD debut of the film next week, the studio has released a new red band trailer which certainly shows why the film has an “R” Rating.

‘John Dies at the End’ marks the return of Don Coscarelli in the writer/director chair since his 2003 cult classic film ‘Bubba Ho-Tep.” If you saw the green band trailer for ‘John Dies at the End,’ then you know that you’re in for a wild 2 minute ride with oddball hilarity and scares. There’s a lot of insane imagery in the film from a monster made out of pieces of meat to ancient trans-dimensional bugs but that’s half the fun of the film! (I won’t even tell you what happens to doorknobs!)

Check it out below then come back to the site as we’ll have a review of the film when it hits theaters next month. But if you can’t wait until then and would like to watch the film in the comfort of your own home, then make sure you catch it when it becomes available on video-on-demand on December 27th!

Synopsis:

It’s a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. On the street they call it Soy Sauce, and users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and David, a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can’t.
