While fans of Jorge Garcia may be upset that his series on Fox, ‘Alcatraz,’ has been cancelled, they can rejoice as he’s been tapped to appear in an episode of ‘Once Upon a Time’. The ‘Lost’ star is said to play “The Giant’ on the hit ABC series but other than that, no other information has been given. Many are speculating that he’ll be the real world personification of the Giant in a ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ episode which has already been disclosed as being part of the show from the new opening credits.

‘Lost’ fans will appreciate Garcia’s appearance on the show as he’ll be reunited with ‘Lost’ executive producers/writers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. If the episode manages to include a scene with Garcia and now-regular-cast-member Emilie de Ravin (who plays Belle), that would be a great way to add another nod to the now defunct series. Better yet, they can have their scene take place at the Mayor’s house (the one with the 108 address) sharing an Apollo bar!

Garica’s giant will be joining other new characters to Storybrook which include Aladdin, Mulan (Jamie Chung), Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue), Sleeping Beauty/Princess Aurora (Sarah Bolger), Prince Philip (Julian Morris) and Sir Lancelot (Sinqua Walls). Looks like the show is shaping up to have a very good second season!

‘Once Upon a Time’ will return to ABC beginning Sunday, September 30th at 8PM ET/PT.
