DC’s New Power Couple: Superman And Wonder Woman!

The New 52 brought about a whole lot of change in the DC Universe. From what I understand, these changes include Barbra Gordon being Batgirl again, Stephanie Brown not being around (or seen) anymore, and Superman never married Lois Lane. Clark has been a bachelor for a while, but it looks like that will change in ‘Justice League’ #12.

According to Entertainment Weekly, who exclusively revealed the cover by DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee, The Man of Steel’s new leading lady is Wonder Woman! Sorry, Lois, I guess you weren’t super enough for Clark Kent.

‘Justice League’ writer Geoff Johns says that a potentially tragic event will affect the whole Justice League and “cause Superman and Wonder Woman to seek solace in each other and move from super-powered colleagues to power couple.” He then adds that this isn’t just a one and done sort of thing. This is the new status quo of DC Comics.

Fans have been dreaming this pairing for a long time, but is it really something that they’ll embrace? My favorite argument comes from ‘Mallrats’ character Brodie Bruce, who argued that these two dating was inevitable. After all Lois Lane’s human anatomy couldn’t bear to withstand his Kryptonian biological makeup. In Brodie’s exact words, “If Lois gets a tan, the kid could kick right through her stomach. Only someone like Wonder Woman has a strong enough uterus to carry his kid. The only way Superman could bang regular chicks is if he does it with a kryptonite condom, but that would probably kill him!”

What do you guys think about this new hot couple in the DC Universe? Are you for it or against it? Sound off in the comments section!

Well, their romance was also done in the Kingdom Come universe so it didn’t come off as a total surprise. I’ve always thought the Lois Lane-Superman romance was to give him a more human (without powers) perspective, especially when it comes to relationships between couples and being an adult.

They were paired up after Crisis on Infinite Earths, after THAT relaunch, but they quickly figured out that they didn’t work as a couple. Clark’s a Kansas farm boy at heart and Diana is was raised to be an Amazon warrior. Other than superficial resemblances, they really don’t have anything in common.

they are different than their pre 52 counter parts. Clark is not a Kansas form boy. He lost his parents at a verry early age, He is obviously more in touch with his Kryptonian side. She is a Warior He is a soljer in a neve ending battle! He is an alien She is a demi god! He has more in common with her than any othe woman on the planet.

It’s a great idea. I look at the possibility of future love angst for Clark. In the end, he will def be with Lois BUT since this is a reboot he’s come across someone with a similar background and he’s decided to give her a chance. We can see that he’s dating this Angelina Jolie type but all the while he has his eyes and attention toward the normal (yet attractive) human girl who just keeps getting into trouble. It’s obvious to the world that he had a “thing” for Lois so it’ll become all to obvious to Diane. The TMZ’s and ET’s of the world would pounce on the story and there would be some hurt egos and bad feelings for a long time. WW and Lois won’t duke it out but there will be uneasy tension and of course the obligatory side comics where they will fight (Lois gets powers for a day/WW lose her power/etc) but we all know were it’s heading. Also, if you remember WW/Supes married at the end of Kingdom Come. Maybe they had that relationship and lost it when Lois came in and (according to KC) the only way they got married at the end was with the death of Lois.
