The official Facebook page for James Mangold’s film ‘The Wolverine’ has been updated with a plot summary about the film.
Admittedly, the synopsis is really brief, but at least it gives a better idea of what the story will be for the “not-a-sequel” sequel. It’s hoped that the summary will be expanded as the release of the film gets closer.
Here’s what 20th Century Fox says ‘The Wolverine’ is about:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, THE WOLVERINE finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
The celebrated comic book arc alluded in the synopsis is the 1982 comic series ‘Wolverine’ written by Chris Claremont with artwork by Frank Miller.
The film is currently in production and brings back Hugh Jackson reprising his role as Wolverine. Also starring in the film are Will Yun Lee as the Silver Samurai, Hiroyuki Sanada as Shingen Yashida, Hal Yamanouchi, Rila Fukushima as Yukio, Brian Tee as Noburo Mori and Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper.
‘The Wolverine’ is scheduled to be released on July 26, 2013.
