Back in February we brought you the news that Travis Richey was planning a web-series based on ‘Inspector Spacetime,’ a character he played on the NBC show ‘Community’ which spoofed the BBC show ‘Doctor Who. After a setback that included some legal wrangling with Sony (the company that owns ‘Community’), the first trailer for his web-series now titled ‘Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time’ has now been released.

The series formally known as ‘Inspector Spacetime’ had to undergo an image and name change after Sony and NBC first got wind of Richey’s Kickstarter campaign for his web-series back in March. Since the studio owned the name and likeness to Inspector Spacetime, they contacted Richey demanding that he cease production on the web-series.  So to get around the legalities, Richey removed all reference to the Inspector Spacetime character, changed the title, slightly altered the appearance of his Time Traveler and the series became a parody of a parody.

Now the first trailer for ‘Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time’ is out and fans will soon get to know the space traveler who travels through time with his faithful associate Piper Tate (fans of ‘Doctor Who’ will get the reference) as they go up against his arch-nemesis, Boyish the Extraordinary. There’s no date yet as to when the web-series will debut but it is something Whovians can be entertained by while they wait for the real deal.
