If you thought the deluge of TV spots and footage from ‘The Avengers’ was overwhelming, just wait as the marketing department over at Warner Bros is just starting! After releasing a few viral letters and a photo of Bane’s destructive weapon, we now have the newest TV spot for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ as well as some speculation on a certain actor who may be making an appearance in the film. But first the TV commercial.

While the other TV spots have concentrated on the action of the film, this spot focuses more on the relationship between Catwoman and Batman. There seems to be quite a bit of banter when the two get together. What surprised me while watching the TV spot was the fact that while at first I thought Catwoman would be an ally of Bane’s, it looks like in this film, she’ll be on the side of the Caped Crusader.

Take a look at the TV spot below and let me know your thoughts. (And if you don’t want the movie spoiled for you, then stop reading after the video as I will be writing about the possible person who may or may not be in this film):

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ TV Spot – Ouch:

WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD!

Now here’s a bit of rumor that Dark Knight fans might be happy about. The people at HeyUGuys in the UK received a press-release announcing the media alert for the ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ European Premiere. In that press release was a little blurb about who would be attending the premiere. From the HeyUGuys site:

“According to the release, the cast attending the premiere include:

Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.”

Yes the name between Marion Cotillard and Morgan Freeman suggests that the actor who has been part of the last two movies will be in the final one but so far nothing has been confirmed. You may recall, Cillian Murphy has played Dr. Crane, aka The Scarecrow since the beginning but the actor has been rather coy when asked about his involvement with ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ so whether his name was just something added to the guest list or he may have a small part or cameo in the film is yet to be determined.

Time will tell whether he is in the movie or not when ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ premieres on July 20th.
