Two weeks before the release of the final film in his Batman franchise, director/writer/producer Christopher Nolan will be immortalized next to Hollywood greats such as Gene Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, and more when he adds his handprints and footprints to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Many entertainers are honored by getting a star on the walk of fame, but Nolan has been granted the rare opportunity to literally leave his mark on Hollywood in front of the famed theater.

In a press release, Jeff Robinov, the President of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, had this to say about Nolan’s achievement:

“Everyone at Warner Bros. joins me in congratulating Christopher Nolan, who has been such an integral part of our family for the past 12 years. We are extremely proud of the cinematic legacy he has given us through his films. At only 41, Christopher takes his place alongside other industry giants featured at Grauman’s, and generations of fans will remember the extraordinary impression he left on their imaginations.”

According to Comic Book Movie, the ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 7th at 10:00am and Nolan’s next film, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, opens in theaters in 3D and IMAX on July 20th.
