In a move that has many comic book readers rejoicing, Marvel and comiXology have teamed up to offer Marvel digital comics through comiXology’s Web Store. Starting today, comic fans can now enjoy Marvel comics on their iPhone, iPad, iPod or any other iOS supported device whenever they want!
ComiXology will offer over 3,500 Marvel digital comics making their web store one of the largest Marvel comic book libraries on the web. “As a lifelong comic collector and reader, partnering with Marvel to distribute their amazing comics is a dream come true,” said David Steinberger, CEO of comiXology. “Bringing Marvel Comics digitally to our Web Viewer builds on the success of our relationship with Marvel.”
Users that access the comiXology web store will be able to not only download a specific issue but also add an entire comic collection to their online shopping cart. They can also use the “send as gift” feature to share the comic books with their friends and family. All purchases made through the web store will automatically sync up with the Comics by comiXology app on any iOS device.
Unfortunately, at this time, the ability to read the Marvel digital comics are not available for Android users but I’m sure with the popularity of e-comic books, that should be remedied soon.
