While we recently saw the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and glimpses of its future in ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,’ we’ll be taken back to the beginning of the organization in ‘Agent Carter,’ the upcoming ABC series that is spinning off from ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and the popular Marvel One-Shot short film of the same name. It’s already confirmed that Hayley Atwell will reprise her role as Peggy Carter for the show, but now we may have gotten confirmation of another star returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Earlier this year, Dominic Cooper expressed his desire to play Howard Stark in an interview with IGN before ‘Agent Carter’ was given the green light. Now, according to Atwell’s comments to The Telegraph, the actor will indeed return and she’s already planning pranks for him on set:

“He’s incredibly naughty. So I’m going to start the pranks as early as I can. He will come up with some very good ones, too.”

It has already been established in Marvel’s movies that Peggy and Howard were among the founding members of S.H.I.E.L.D., so it wouldn’t make much sense if Cooper didn’t appear in the show. Some might say that the actor might not sign off since he tends to stay away from television shows in favor of films or miniseries, but with ‘Agent Carter’ only scheduled for eight episodes, that’s basically the same commitment as your average mini. Basically, unless schedule conflicts arise, I’d be surprised if we didn’t see Howard Stark on ABC next season. Now, if we could only get word about Neil McDonough reprising his role as Dum Dum Dugan alongside some other Howling Commandos (like Agent Antoine Triplett’s grandfather), then I’d be happy.

We could definitely use more of these two on ‘Agent Carter’.

What do you think about Dominic Cooper reprising his role as Howard Stark in ‘Agent Carter’? Is there currently any doubt in your mind that we won’t see him in the upcoming ABC program? Let us know in the comment section.
