Welcome, True Believers to a new outing with the great and late Stan Lee. Before the passing of one of the icons behind Marvel, Lee co-wrote ‘Stan Lee’s Alliances: A Trick of Light’ with Kat Rosenfield, Luke Lieberman, and Ryan Silbert. This is one of the final contributions to entertainment by Lee and is “a first-of-its-kind audio storytelling event that invites listeners to unleash the power of their own imagination, and bring to life an epic, superheroes origins story set within a tech-centric, highly-connected world, unnervingly reminiscent of our own.”
The trailer features narration by Lee and you can check it out right here!
As to what to expect from the tale, here’s the official synopsis:
“Stan Lee’s Alliances: A Trick of Light introduces listeners to a mysterious young woman, Nia, whose fate is intertwined with a seemingly ordinary Midwestern teenager, Cameron Ackerson, whose quest for YouTube stardom takes him to the heart of the Great Lakes Triangle where he is imbued with the power to “see” and “hear” a new reality. As Nia and Cameron’s relationship grows, they conspire to create a more righteous online universe, dishing out justice big and small, but wind up crossing a shadowy outfit called OPTIC, which goes after them for its own nefarious purposes. Meanwhile, a threat of galactic proportions emerges, imperiling humanity’s very existence by harnessing our individual desire to connect as the very means to destroy us.”
I’m not going to lie, I’m totally biased towards a story which takes place in the Midwest, and while I would have listened to it just for the fact that it was co-written by Stan Lee alone, this is some excellent added incentive for me to check it out.
You can pre-order ‘Stan Lee’s Alliances: A Trick of Light’ on Audible ahead of the Thursday, June 27th, 2019 premiere date!
