‘Tremors 7‘ was in the works even while the Kevin Bacon streaming series had been shelved and now Michael Gross has shared an update on the next installment of the franchise. It is hard to believe that a seventh movie is even happening but not only is it moving forward, but it sounds like there has been quite of work since we last heard!
In December, Gross shared that the movie was happening when announced:
“Tremors fans will be delighted to know I have just agreed to the terms of a contract for a SEVENTH film. My best estimate is that Burt Gummer will begin his hunt for Graboids and other nefarious forms of wildlife in the fall of 2019.”
This seems like it will still be on track as now there is a considerable writing milestone which has been hit:
“Burt Gummer and Tremors fans will want to know I read the first draft of Tremors 7 this weekend, and it is not s**t! Lots of good stuff and good ideas from our initial story conferences at Universal Pictures, but still much to do to get it just right.”
It looks like we’ll be getting at least one major re-write but not in a way that will change what they’ve plotted out or would cause any delays in what he hoped would be the production schedule of the film.
There is no news yet as to if Jamie Kennedy will be returning as Burt Gummer’s son, but chances are that the actor will be back as well.
Can you believe that we’re already almost about to get a ‘Tremors 7’? Are you thrilled that the first draft has been completed and doesn’t seem to require too much work to get to a final draft? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
