hotel Transylvania 3

There are still four months to go before Halloween, so the ghouls of ‘Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation’ are taking a much-needed break during their off season.  The gang hits the high seas on a cruise and hilarity and danger ensue.  If you have young kids, you probably already know this movie is coming soon and already have plans to take them.  These movies have already racked up $833 million.  But if the kids need something to tide them over, Alexa has the answer to your dilemma.  As part of a partnership with Amazon, the device is offering a new bedtime story, nursery rhyme or joke voiced by a member of the ‘Hotel Transylvania 3’ cast, with one new offering a day until the movie’s premiere.

All an adult has to do to access this material is to say “Alexa, open Hotel Transylvania.”  From there, you have a variety of options, which include:

  • “Alexa, ask Hotel Transylvania for a joke.”
  • “Alexa, tell Hotel Transylvania Bleh, bleh, bleh.”
  • “Alexa, I want to meet Drac’s Pack”
  • “Alexa, ask hotel Transylvania if you are a vampire.”
  • “Alexa, I want to hear THE MUMMY RAP”
  • “Alexa, ask Hotel Transylvania if tonight is a full moon.”

Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Executive Vice President of Worldwide Digital Marketing, Elias Plishner said:

“The Hotel Transylvania characters have won over young audiences and their families for years. We love to utilize new technologies like voice recognition to engage our young fans with the characters they love and spark their imaginations in unique ways. This Alexa skill will surprise, entertain, and enhance family time throughout the summer season.”

As another part of this deal between Amazon and Sony, Amazon also offered an advance screening of ‘Hotel Transylvania 3’ which were held Friday and earned the studio roughly $1.5 million in advance of its official opening on July 13.  Amazon and Sony offered a similar deal last year for ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ in advance of its post-Star Wars’ opening and the positive buzz generated by those advance screenings helped promote the movie, which went on to become the highest-grossing Sony film ever.

‘Hotel Transylvania 3’ features an all-star cast which includes Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi, Fran Drescher, Jim Gaffigan, Kathryn Hahn, Kevin James, Keegan-Michael Key, Andy Samberg, Molly Shannon, David Spade and Mel Brooks.
