Out of left field, it appears that Marvel Studios is still eyeing a release of a ‘Power Pack‘ movie. When the studio was initially looking to expand their film line, some of the initial lineups included ‘Black Panther,’ ‘Cloak & Dagger’, and ‘Power Pack.’ While the first of those three have gone on to become one of Marvel Studios’ greatest hits, the second went into development as a television series instead. While ‘Power Pack’ doesn’t appear to fit the mold of movies which have grown into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it doesn’t appear to be off the board.
Not only has producer Jonathan Schwartz been given executive oversight on developing the project but during a press junket for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp,’ Kevin Feige shared that it could still happen.
Here is what Feige had to say on the matter:
“Power Pack is a property that we’ve been interested in for a long time. For many years because we wanted to do something for families, something that’s a little younger, Ant-Man has kind of become that franchise, certainly with Ant-Man and the Wasp, but Power Pack still is one of the many things that we discuss, wouldn’t it be fun to do someday?”
There have already been hints that the seeds for a ‘Young Avengers’ movie could be in the ground and this would add a second set of younger heroes to the mix. That being said, it doesn’t sound like it is in active production so with ‘Ant-Man’ and potentially a ‘Young Avengers’ film looking to keep younger audiences able to watch Marvel Studios films, this could very well be a long-term project for the company.
Do you feel that the ‘Power Pack’ would make a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Could these young heroes make for a fun family outing for Marvel fans? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
