You saw it in the previews and if you’ve had a chance to see ‘Thor: Ragnarok‘ than you’ve gotten an up close and personal look at Hulk‘s bed in the movie! Made from the skull of a giant beast, there is no story onscreen to explain how our hero turned gladiator obtained a bed that would have been just as fitting in ‘Conan’ as this location.
There are a few spoilers for the film involving Hulk below so if you haven’t seen it yet you may want to turn back now.
So why does the Champion of Sakaar have such a strange place to lay his head at night? Well, actor Mark Ruffalo who portrays our rampaging hero explains:
“We had to basically figure out what happened, how he got there. He was captured like Thor was — that’s how he knows Valkyrie, and she becomes his coach along the way. He becomes the champion, they love him. He ends up beating the beast that the bed was made out of. That’s the previous champion! He tore him in half, and made him his headboard. You do all that.”
While that absolutely sounds like the headspace the Hulk would be in when we’re first introduced to him in the arena and directly after, it would have been cool to explain a bit more of that on screen. There isn’t a lot of detail on Hulk’s presence on Sakaar, it was quickly clear how he got there but not how he became the champion in his two years on the planet.
We have seen the Hulk handle giant creatures in the first ‘The Avengers’ film as well as going toe to toe with both a giant beast as well as something even bigger in ‘Thor: Ragnarok.’
Do you think we’ll ever get to see the Hulk take on this beast in any form to get an idea of what he went through and how angry he really was? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
