Peyton Reed’s ‘Ant-Man’ is the next step in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to infest theaters this week. Are you still on the fence about this movie, based on the long-running, but rarely showcased character? Maybe these new clips will convince you to scratch the itch.
Paul Rudd plays Scott Lang, an ex-con who must use his thievery skills in the service of Hank Pym, a scientist played by Michael Douglas. There’s more to the film than just super heroic heist action, though. There’s a human side, as Lang is also on a personal mission to repair his relationship with his young daughter. (If you are familiar with the comics, you know that one day this little lady will become one of the biggest heroes in the Marvel U.)
Now Marvel has released two new clips that show ‘Ant-Man’ crashing in two ways. In the first, Scott Lang, fresh out of prison, crashes his daughter’s birthday party, where he brushes Bobby Cannavale’s character Paxton the wrong way.
Watch it below:
Next, see Lang in action as Ant-Man as he uses his size-changing powers to battle the henchmen of his enemy Darren Cross, played by Corey Stoll. This scene also features an appearance by Michael Peña as Luis, a character that seems to be getting a lot of buzz as the film’s comic relief. Check this scene out below:
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
‘Ant-Man’ directed by Peyton Reed is in theaters now. Will this micro-size hero measure up at the box office?
