Bryan Singer has released his latest behind the scenes photo for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse‘ and in it we see that James McAvoy (‘X-Men: First Class‘,’Wanted’) is finally going to be the bald Professor X that fans of the mutants know and love. When we finish the bookened to the second trilogy, we will at long last have the look of Professor X that so many of us have wanted. Of course, this shouldn’t come as a complete surprise as in an interview last year McAvoy did say that he’d be losing his hair in order to better resemble the signature look of Charles Xavier.
While we’ve already seen that this Xavier has seen his future self without hair , it is unclear how many of those memories will remain. Of course during the span of ten years between ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past‘ and ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ the loss of hair would more easily sell the change in time periods – if the unique clothing styles of the 80’s didn’t already do that.
With McAvoy just shaving now it would be quite feasible that he’ll have hair for part of the movie as production has been ongoing for the past couple of weeks.
Let’s take a look at the actor shaving his head for his art!
This is the man who will one day grow into Patrick Stewart! Or, at least his character will. Kind of.
Singer loves to tease us with details on his films with anything from the script to a new ship to Angel and even the first look at Jubilee and Jean Grey. Hell, he’s even given us casting news such as Lucas Till returning and Olivia Munn signing on as Psylocke. With this being Singer’s last X-Men movie, I’m quite sure he wants to not only go out in style but leave things in a way where we all remember his legacy on the franchise and not think of ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ or ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ (which he wasn’t involved in but still carry the name).
Are you happy to hear that McAvoy is finally going bald for the role of Professor X? Do you think Singer is going to keep giving us some majorly fun new details before the film is released? Share your thoughts below True Believers!
