Following a change in showrunners, Marvel Studios and Netflix began to fill the cast of ‘Daredevil’, the first of five highly anticipated shows coming to the popular streaming service in the near future to feature some street level heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ‘Boardwalk Empire’ star Charlie Cox landed the lead role of Matt Murdock AKA the hero known as the Man Without Fear and shortly after that ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’ actor Vincent D’Onofrio signed on as Wilson Fisk AKA the Kingpin. Now, the cast continues to grow as one more comes aboard.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Rosario Dawson has been cast in a recurring role in ‘Daredevil’. While the report is not specific as to who the ‘Sin City’ and ‘Rent’ star will play, it does say that she will be a “dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city”.
Once this news broke, immediately fans began to speculate that Dawson would play Elektra Natchios, a deadly assassin who has a rich history with Daredevil as both a lover and an enemy. If this does end up being true, then it won’t be the actress’ first time tackling a character created by Frank Miller as he also created Gail of ‘Sin City’, who we will see again in ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’.
