Sometimes the most innocent comments can cause a big commotion. Whether this was just a teaser of things to come or just an offhand comment, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson caused quite a stir when replying to a fan today on Twitter.
Earlier today, someone had tweeted that he could see The Rock playing in a DC movie as the “Gravedigger or John Stewart (JL’s Green Lantern).” Here’s Rock’s reply:
So is he or isn’t he? That’s the million dollar question (or in Johnson’s case, a several million dollar question). Of the DC superhero movies that are in development, the one that does seem to be moving forward is ‘Lobo.’ Just recently it was announced that the film had just signed on Brad Peyton to helm the project. Personally, I think the Rock would make an excellent person to personify the anti-heroic mercenary/bounty hunter.
Of course this could all be moot and Johnson would just be having a little fun with his fans and his comment could pertain that he, too, could see himself in a DC movie. In a recent interview with CBM, Johnson had mentioned that he would love to play Black Adam as he’s a big fan! He also stated that if DC or any studio were to make a Shazam film, he’s ready to sign on for the part.
Regardless, Johnson would make an great superhero don’t you think? The question would be, which one in the DC Universe would he be best fitted for? Let me know what you think in the comments below!
