About Brian Tudor

Brian Tudor profile photo
One of Brian’s earliest Sci-Fi memory is the Rancor from Jedi, even before that he could be seen running around the yard with an imaginary Luke Skywalker, stuffed Chewbacca in tow, fighting the dark side. Frank Herbert’s Dune further refined his Sci-Fi taste and the love affair was set in place. It was the discovery of comic books and superheroes that put him over the edge. After a brief hiatus from comics, Kevin Smith’s run on Green Arrow brought him back to the land of tights, flight, super speed and gadgets galore! Currently his home office is littered with action figures, posters, DVD’s and comic book, all threatening to overtake him at any time. After years as a DC Fanboy he is learning to love Marvel Comic's again, especially now that Greg Rucka is writing The Punisher.
Favorites: Farscape, Star Wars, Dune, Robin/Nightwing, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, BSG, Falling Skies, Thundercats, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Cyclops, Iceman, Nightcrawler

‘Static Shock’ issue 2, Disarmed, starts with a brief flashback of the final few panels of ‘Static Shock’ #1 where the evil Virule cuts off our electronic hero’s left arm. Fret not gentle reader, Static’s left arm is away from his body for all of a couple of panels, as his electric powers keep the […]

Rage is a curious thing. Rage can drive a person to do great things, just as easily as it can as it can destroy them. In ‘Red Lanterns’ #2, Red Lantern founder, and resident brain trust, Atrocitus is pondering the meaning of rage and how one form of rage can be more important than another […]

DC Comics is known for superheroes, we all know this to be true. However, I have always loved the way DC Comics handles magic in the DC Universe. From Deadman to Zatanna, even Wonder Woman; all of the magical beings in the DCU are uber-powerful. Even Superman is not immune to the effects of magic. […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘Teen Titans’ #1

I long for the days of ‘Teen Titans’ being the number 1 book, not just at DC Comics, but in all of comic book-dom. Will this new Teen Titans bring the team of super-teens back to the glory days of yore? In the world of the New 52 superheroes are still relatively new, so the […]

Over on DC Comics website the description for Green Lantern: New Guardians looks a little like this: “Kyle Rayner has assembled the most powerful team in all the universe, selected from the full spectrum of corps. But can he even keep this volatile group together?” One would be lead to believe the first book would […]

  • Comic Book Review: ‘The Flash’ #1

The Flash has been a major focus of the DC Universe over the past couple of years since Barry Allen returned from the grave. This past summer featured the Universe shaking Flashpoint, and now the Flash is back in an all new solo-title. If the New 52 ‘Flash’ #1 provides anything, it is a great […]

It’s one thing to reboot continuity; on many levels I’m ok with some retcon for the sake of story. It’s another thing to reboot continuity and have one of the Teen Titans of yore turned into Memento, willing to hop into the sack with anyone willing (and if you can see any bit of Starfire’s […]

Finally, all is right in Gotham City. While I really enjoyed Dick Grayson’s run as Batman, it’s always nice to see DC Comics’ third oldest character back in the comfortable world of his own book. Kyle Higgins steps right into the world of the first sidekick turned standout hero, and does a nice job reintroducing […]
