We know that from the previews of ‘Aquaman’ that fans and critics both have high hopes from the film. Thanks to a preview from Warner Bros. China, it sounds like the movie will deliver on our expectations, visually at least. The preview seemed to focus on the action sequences and not the overall plot of the film, so we can’t say if it will be as fun as it looks but if this early description is accurate than we can expect something fun to watch.
Also, this seems to double down on the idea that we should all be trying to get IMAX tickets for when it is released.
The comparisons to ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ came here:
Warner Bros. China showed 25 mins footage of Aquaman in Beijing premiere. All those are action scenes, so it’s hard to say how narration is. But the fight is really good. The best reaction I’ve seen so far is James Wan give audience the LOTR & The Matrix level battle. #Aquaman pic.twitter.com/Umud9Z85YB

This was quickly followed up with:
A media friend said he loved the tone, “so dark on the ground but so bright in the sea. James Wan is the man who saves DC universe.” #Aquaman

25-minutes of footage from the film was shared at this screening and it sounds like it was all well received. To be fair, I should note here that I’m not worried about the plot falling into subpar territory. Director James Wan has consistently directed high-quality films, and I believe that this will be another feather in his cap.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure
that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,”
starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-
Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only
force him to face who he really is but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…
a king.
‘Aquaman’ will be swimming into theaters on December 21st, 2018!
