nick fury

It almost seems surprising that Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury didn’t already know something about Wakanda but the super spy is going to meet Black Panther face to face in the Marvel Cinematic Universe somewhere down the line.

Jackson has vocally been annoyed about not appearing in ‘Black Panther’ saying:

“I can’t answer that! I’m wondering. He should’ve been there. He should have been somewhere — maybe in that casino in Korea when all of that stuff jumped off.”

That casino shot where Andy Serkis’ Ulysses Klaue was selling off his wares and Martin Freeman’s Everett K. Ross was a potential buyer would have been the perfect place to insert Fury. If anything, Fury seems almost like a more obvious choice to have there instead of Ross, and that is with S.H.I.E.L.D. still out of the picture.

Jackson’s reason for thinking he should have been in the movie is that:

“Just so you could say, ‘Oh, Nick Fury is out in the world looking for whatever the evil in the world is. He’s just there and is kind of like, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s that Black Panther dude.’ ‘Cause there’s no way in the world he doesn’t know where Wakanda is or what vibranium is or any of that because he’s Nick Fury.”

When Jackson pitched being in the film to those in charge over at Marvel Studios he claims they said something to the effect of “Ehh, Nah. We’re good. Nick Fury and Black Panther will meet somewhere. But not there.”

So, it sounds like they have a plan to have these two meet at some point but that ‘Black Panther’ wasn’t the right time for it.

Do you feel that Nick Fury should have appeared in ‘Black Panther’? What situation would be fitting for the ultimate spymaster to meet with the leader of Wakanda? Will we learn that Fury already knew all about this secretive nation before they meet? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
