stranger things

After what seems like an eternity, it’s almost finally time to return to the Upside Down with all-new episodes of ‘Stranger Things’ on Netflix. Eleven, Mike, and the gang are coming to a streaming device near you on Friday, October 27th for the second season of the acclaimed sci-fi throwback, but they won’t be coming alone. And no, we’re not talking about whatever literal or figurative monsters are after them this time around because the popular streaming service will be releasing an aftershow alongside the returning series.

After breaking new ground in the areas of original programming by releasing their own comedy specials, TV shows, movies, and even a talk show, Netflix is changing the game once again by debuting a brand new aftershow titled ‘Beyond Stranger Things’. Hosted by writer/producer/actor/superfan Jim Rash, this show after the show will drop the same day as ‘Stranger Things’ season two and will discuss all the ins and outs of the show including behind the scenes stories, answers to the inevitable burning questions, and in-depth analysis of each episode with various guests including creators Ross and Matt Duffer, executive producer and director Shawn Levy, and a bevy of stars including Millie Bobby Brown, Sean Astin, Linnea Berthelsen, Natalia Dyer, Brett Gelman, David Harbour, Randy Havens, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Dacre Montgomery, Paul Reiser, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, and Finn Wolfhard.

One thing that will separate ‘Beyond Stranger Things’ from the other aftershows (aside from the fact that it isn’t hosted by Chris Hardwick) is that it won’t be airing immediately after each episode. Instead, it will automatically play after the final episode of the season so as to avoid some spoiler-filled conversation. Plus, with most people binging the new season shortly after it premieres, it will feel like the aftershow is starting after one long episode anyway.
