The world can breathe a sigh of relief.  Bill Nye will continue his quest to save it, as Netflix has released a teaser for Season Two of his new series ‘Bill Nye Saves The World’.  The show just premiered in April of this year and was apparently a smash hit for Netflix to renew it so quickly.  (The streaming service doesn’t disclose its viewership numbers.)

‘Bill Nye Saves The World’ is something of an update of his beloved 1990s kids series ‘Bill Nye The Science Guy’ but with a broader appeal (i.e. adults), with a live studio audience and Nye sharing the stage with a diverse panel of celebrity guests like Neil deGrasse Tyson, EDM DJ/producer Steve Aoki, Diedrich Bader, Sandra Bernhard, Zach Braff, Food Network host Alton Brown, Margaret Cho, mixed martial artist Randy Couture, rapper Desiigner, Donald Faison, ‘Project Runway’ host Tim Gunn, Joel McHale and more.  The show also features a revolving roster of correspondents including TV producer Emily Calandrelli, comic writer Joanna Hausmann, comedian Nazeem Hussain, Taylor Swift’s best friend/fashion model Karlie Kloss and YouTuber Derek Muller.  The theme song is by musician Tyler the Creator, who is, ya know popular with the kids.

‘Bill Nye Saves The World’ covered such topics as climate change, alternative medicine, genetic modifications, vaccinations, dieting, overpopulation, space travel and even video games.  Plus one topic that never would have made it onto ‘Bill Nye The Science Guy’… sex.

No release date was given but considering the show’s chat show format, it shouldn’t take long to produce more episodes than the average Netflix original series.  And with the first season’s success, celebrity guests should be clamoring to appear.

Have you seen ‘Bill Nye Saves The World’?  Are you glad that more episodes are coming?
