Assassin’s Creed‘ snuck into the box office and flopped out of it but the franchise isn’t necessarily dead. While we haven’t heard any solid plans on an ‘Assassin’s Creed 2’ quite yet, we have learned that the video game series might be heading to the small screen as a TV show. While Regency might still push for a sequel, we’ve heard that Ubisoft is hedging its bets.

During a recent Reddit Ask Me Anything, ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Head of Content Aymar Azaizia was questioned about a television series, and he was a bit more revealing than anything else we’ve heard so far:

“It’s like the movie guys, we will take our time, to get sure we deliver something we can be proud of, but if you wonder if it’s on our plan… YES”

Last year rumors were swirling that a Netflix series might be in the early stages of pre-development and the streaming studio has easily proven that they’ve been able to deliver solid films and shows so far. Hopefully, they just hire someone better at doing stunt work and action sequences than the team which put together Marvel’s ‘Iron Fist.’

While ‘Assassin’s Creed’ is one of the many video game properties which would make for good cinema, I could see it fairing better in an anthology television format which each season is covering a different assassin. I’ll be curious to see what direction it goes in if it were ever to see the light of day.

Would you be open to an ‘Assassin’s Creed’ series? Would you want the entire series to follow a single assassin or would you prefer an anthology style setup? Share your thoughts below!
