For better or worse, ‘Sleepy Hollow‘ has a fourth season coming and we’ve just learned that Fox has cast Jeremy Davies (‘Lost’,’Justified’) to play the villain. For a change of pace though it looks like the new enemy of Tom Mison’s Ichabod Crane won’t actually be someone supernatural in nature. That seems like a big departure from a show that has pit Crane against all manner of demons so far.
So who is Davies playing that will be a thorn in Crane’s side? His character is named Malcolm Dreyfuss and they are describing him as:
…an eccentric and outspoken tech mogul who became a billionaire before the age of 30, and has since been seeking other worlds to conquer. In many ways, he is a dark mirror to Tom Mison’s Crane, since he represents capitalism and democracy gone awry — a perversion of the American dream that Crane and the Founding Fathers fought so hard to establish.
A master of technology that is “seeking other worlds to conquer” could mean that he learns a bit more about the supernatural and wants to become involved even if he isn’t directly part of it.
