Every since the deal went through between Marvel and Sony, fans have been filled with hope for a future where all of their favorite heroes will be allowed to play together up on the big screen, and I am not just talking about your average joe fans who go out to see the movies, I also mean the producers and writers of these superhero extravaganzas. Recently it has been revealed that the director of ‘Deadpool,’ Tim Miller, has been working to “build bridges” between Marvel and 20th Century Fox to potentially allow a ‘Deadpool’/ ‘Spider-Man’ crossover to happen, as they have some memorable arcs in the comics, and are a fun pair as they are both wise-cracking heroes, though Deadpool is understandably darker and more willing to cross certain lines than Spider-Man. According to the keeper of the 20th Century Fox Marvel Universe, Simon Kinberg:

“I would love to see it. Both of us are close with [Marvel’s] Kevin Feige, we respect and love Kevin. If it were even remotely possible, we will find a way ’cause we’d would love to see it.”

Unfortunately, recent news has led us to believe that the whole idea is most likely not happening, especially since the Sony deal was only struck when ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ failed to meet commercial and critical expectations, and it was clear that Sony was losing its fans and the potential for their ‘Spider-Man’ franchise. Fox is doing just fine at the moment, especially with the incredible success of ‘Deadpool’ earlier this year, and the highly anticipated release of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ in the coming months.
