Not far from the actual neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen, Marvel and Netflix celebrated the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of the neighborhood as well as it’s protector at the ‘Daredevil’ season two premiere in New York City last night. However, the Man Without Fear wasn’t the only hero in attendance at the event. In addition to Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page, newcomers like the Punisher and Elektra were spotted on the red carpet as well. Although, Luke Cage himself was also present to support his fellow Defender ahead of the show’s March 18th release date. And during his time on the mic, Cage took a moment to drop a bombshell of an announcement.

While speaking to Marvel.com’s Lorraine Cink, ‘Jessica Jones’ star Mike Colter announced that his own Netflix series ‘Luke Cage’ would be premiering on September 30, 2016. When asked about what we could expect from the upcoming show, Colter gave a little tease before spilling the beans:

“Well, I’ll just say this. It’s going to be action-packed from the beginning to the very end. Trust me. ‘Daredevil’ premieres March 18 and I will see the fans on September 30. You heard it here first.”

Helmed by showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker, ‘Luke Cage’ will find the hero with unbreakable skin moving from Hell’s Kitchen to Harlem as he tries to rebuild his life. The third series from the House of Ideas and the popular streaming service will also star Mahershala Ali as Cornell Stokes a.k.a. Cottonmouth, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi as Shades, and Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe.
