game-of-thrones

For fans of ‘Game of Thrones’, April 24th can’t come soon enough. After an excruciatingly long wait, the Season Six premiere is nearly in sight. We’ve even recently started to get some head-scratching teasers for the new season of HBO’s acclaimed fantasy drama based on George R.R. Martin’s popular novels. And now, keeping with the trend of promotional material not giving away any details regarding the first season to set sail without the guidance of one of Martin’s books, we have a brand new behind the scenes featurette for the show.

Released on the series’ official YouTube channel, the latest extended preview of ‘Game of Thrones’ season six provides a ton of behind the scenes footage featuring the likes of Jamie Lannister, Melisandre, and more. But rather than focus on any of these characters’ storylines, the video takes a look at the storytelling through the lenses of the camera operators. However, if you’re looking to get your fix, you can see some sneak peeks at exotic locations and large-scale sequences amidst the discussion from the people that make Westeros come to life. You can check it all out in the video below:

At first glance, it does look as if there’s nothing going on here. Although, Comic Book Movie does mention that we may be looking at the younger versions of Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon practicing their swordplay in this video. There isn’t really any information backing up that hypothesis, but it’s possible that we could be seeing some flashbacks in the upcoming season. You never really know what could happen on ‘Game of Thrones’ next after all.

What do you think of the latest ‘Game of Thrones’ featurette? Are you more excited for the new season? Sound off in the comments.
