Prepare for war!  The heroes of the Marvel Comics Cinematic Universe are about to come to blows in the first trailer for next year’s hotly anticipated ‘Captain America: Civil War’.  As nearly everyone knows, the film takes its subtitle from the popular 2006 miniseries which divided the U.S.’s super human population in half with one faction opting to go along with a government registration act, which would require them to give up their secret identities and the other going rogue and standing up against the sanction.  The comic book was star-studded with wall-to-wall cameos by nearly every major character in the Marvel roster.

And many expected much of the same with the movie, but as the new trailer illustrates, this is still a ‘Captain America’ movie.

The Russo brothers return to share directing duties and this new flick certainly calls to mind the stellar job they did with the politically-charged ‘Winter Soldier’.  A lot of similar stylistic elements remain– including the spy thriller tone– as do the character interactions.  Even though Black Widow takes Iron Man’s side, her closeness with Cap is evident, following the pair’s team-up in the last film.

Also, check out Black Panther in action for the first time!

Many were essentially expecting this movie to be ‘Avengers 3’, but at the center of the storm stands Chris Evans as Captain America.  As this trailer shows, even with all the extra heroes featured, this is most certainly his film.

One possible SPOILER ALERT: There is a shot of a certain hero downed, badly beaten.  We’ve long known that a character would die.  Does this trailer reveal who?!

Enough talk!  Watch for yourself below:

And as a bonus, here is the official poster:

The wait is over!  You’ve now seen your first look at ‘Captain America: Civil War’.  What do you think so far?  Are you glad Cap isn’t getting crowded out of his own movie?  Or are you let down that the other heroes don’t play as large a role as you expected.
