Trouble isn’t hard to find when you’re Wade Wilson. When he returns to the big screen in Tim Miller’s ‘Deadpool,’ the Merc with a Mouth will certainly have his hands full with the likes of Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Angel Dust, and Colossus. However, one of the film’s stars hints that the 20th Century Fox legal department may have some trouble on their hands as well once the movie premieres next year.

While speaking to Digital Spy about his upcoming role in ‘The Transporter Refueled’, Ed Skrein also talked about his part in the highly-anticipated Marvel mutant spinoff as the assassin Ajax. After discussing how faithful his portrayal of the character is to the source material, Skrein mentioned that some of the best parts of shooting were the multiple takes of comedic moments and finding out which ones make the final cut:

“The best part of this movie for me is going to be finding out which one of the options, the jokes from every scene we’ve done, is going to go in, because we had so many. We had Harry Styles, David Beckham, we had Prince Charles, we had so many! The funniest part was trying to keep a straight face. Ryan is such a comedic genius, and then people like TJ Miller, who has a phenomenal sense of humor, they would make every take so different. We were so free in that aspect. I think it’s going to be a nightmare for the Fox lawyers and a nightmare in the edit, but wonderful for the viewer.”

Deadpool has always been a bit of an oddball with a twisted sense of humor. That’s part of his charm. But it’s likely that the Fox legal team might not find him so funny if they have a lawsuit on their hands thanks to Wade Wilson’s jokes. Like Skrein, I too am curious to see what the studio lets director Miller, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and the cast get away with. But regardless of how much or how little gets through, True Believers are in for some of that trademark irreverent humor that we’ve come to expect from the fan favorite character.

Do you think that ‘Deadpool’ could give the Fox lawyers quite the headache? Sound off in the comment section.

‘Deadpool’ starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Gina Carano, and Ed Skrein hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
