It’s no surprise when Hollywood decides to dust off a popular old franchise– or even stand alone movies– to relaunch them with a modern spin.  But few have the luxury that ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ does, as it was co-written, produced and directed by George Miller, the man who conceived the dusty, post-apocalyptic world of the classic original 80s trilogy.  But nearly 30 years later, he– and audiences– are set to revisit this bleak future, where the roads are ruled by marauding pirates.

Tom Hardy assumes the role as “Mad” Max Rockatansky, the role originated by Mel Gibson in the original three films, a loner still reeling from the deaths of his wife and daughter.  Hardy is joined by Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa, a mysterious and lethal lady on a mission to protect four fugitive women who are seeking to escape the tyrannical Immortan Joe  played by Hugh Keays-Byrne.  The movie also stars Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The competition this summer is pretty intense, but to entice audiences, Warner Brothers has released these six new video clips to convince you to take the journey down Fury Road.  Check them out below:

If nothing else, I predict this movie will drive sales of bottled water and large sodas at the concession stands of cineplexes across the country.  Just watching this desert wasteland makes me parched!
