Clearly Ross Marquand (‘Down and Dangerous’,’A Lonely Place for Dying’) is a fan of working with AMC as this former ‘Mad Men’ has just joined the cast of ‘The Walking Dead‘ as a series regular. Okay, he may have only been in a single episode of ‘Mad Men’ but clearly working with the network didn’t leave a bad taste in his mouth. We’re going to see Marquand’s character showing up in the second half of the upcoming fifth season and most likely will be one that is included on the sixth season as well.

An interesting thing to note is that Marquand has had a lot of experience doing impressions of other actors which could make him a pretty viable candidate to bring a wide range of expression into any character that he does end up portraying. At this time there is no word on if Marquand will be playing a new character or one based off of an existing comic character. It should be noted though that series creator Robert Kirkman has recently announced on ‘The Talking Dead’ that there would be a “prominent” gay character from the comics introduced soon which pretty much hints that we’ll be seeing Aaron introduced on the show.

Will Marquand end up playing Aaron? There is no word on that quite yet, but if Aaron is the character being introduced that means we’ll be at the start of the Alexandria story line which will give us a ton of new characters to choose from. I suspect we’ll see him as one of the Alexandria residents if not as Aaron himself. As a series regular there would be a few to choose from.

For those unfamiliar with the Alexandria Safe-Zone, it is a town that is heavily fortified and where the bulk of the series has been set in for quite some time. In fact more issues have now taken place in this location than any other of Kirkman’s work.

Are you looking forward to see Marquand on the show when the series returns? Do you think he’ll be playing anyone in particular from Alexandria or a completely new face? Share your thoughts below!
