This weekend, we’ll be seeing a classic Disney villain like we’ve never seen her before as Angelina Jolie stars as the Mistress of All Evil in ‘Maleficent’. However, next year we’ll be seeing yet another take on the malicious fairy from ‘Sleeping Beauty’ in Kenny Ortega’s Disney Channel Original Movie ‘The Descendants’, along with some other famously feared faces and their offspring. Recently, Broadway veteran Kristin Chenoweth landed the role of Maleficent, but now the studio has revealed who will play a few of the other big bads from the House of Mouse.

Variety broke the news that the production has cast the rest of the film’s villainous parents. According to the report, comedian Maz Jobrani will play the sorcerer supreme Jafar of ‘Aladdin’ fame, ‘Hocus Pocus’ and ‘Sister Act’ star Kathy Najimy will tackle Snow White’s Evil Queen, and Wendy Raquel Robinson of ‘The Steve Harvey Show’ shall don the furs of Cruella de Vil. Additionally, ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ actress Melanie Paxson will step into the magical shoes of the Fairy Godmother. They join a cast that already includes Brenna D’Amico, Cameron Boyce, Sofia Carson, Mitchell Hope, and ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ star Booboo Stewart, who all star as the children of some of Disney’s most iconic characters.

While no release date has been set yet and a few key roles are still to be determined, we do have an official synopsis that hints at other characters that could appear in the upcoming DCOM:

In a present day idyllic kingdom, the benevolent teenaged son of the King and Queen (Beast and Belle from Disney’s iconic Beauty and the Beast) is poised to take the throne. His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to the trouble-making offspring of Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar who have been imprisoned on a forbidden island with all the other villains, sidekicks, evil step-mothers and step-sisters. These villainous descendants (Carlos, Mal, Evvie and Jay, respectively) are allowed into the kingdom to attend prep school alongside the offspring of iconic Disney heroes including Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Mulan. However, the evil teens face a dilemma. Should they follow in their nefarious parents’ footsteps and help all the villains regain power or embrace their innate goodness and save the kingdom?
