Marvel’s next smash hit ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘ drops this weekend and after that we have to wait until its August 1st release to see ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘. Honestly after the first trailer for the film, I know that many of my friends (myself included) have wanted nothing more than for this movie to come out. Thankfully Marvel isn’t making us fully wait on what to expect from the film as they are releasing a prologue comic to give us more of a lead in!

The comic itself won’t give us a look at all of the characters in the film as starring front in center will be Gamora is played by Zoe Saldana (‘Star Trek Into Darkness‘,’Rosemary’s Baby‘) in the film. She is on a mission for Benicio del Toro’s (‘The Wolfman’,’Thor: The Dark World’) The Collector who we briefly saw in the end scene credits of ‘Thor: The Dark World’. What that mission is we aren’t sure but she will have to travel to the crime-ridden world known as Conjunction to pull it off. It actually looks to start by recapping the events at the end of the second Thor film for those who haven’t seen it quite yet.

According to editor Bill Rosemann, this ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ prelude comic was made specifically for Marvel’s cosmic character fans as it puts back together the creative team of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning who initially built this team after the 2007 ‘Annihilation: Conquest’ storyline. Visually, the comic will be illustrated by Daniel Gover, Andrea DiVito and Laura Villari. Rosemann also says that it is “a must-read story that will steer you directly into Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Will this be on your pull list?  Let us know below!
