You don’t earn the nickname “The Man” by sitting around and doing nothing. That’s why Stan Lee is everywhere. When he’s not attending conventions around the country, he’s at his own convention or working on something for his YouTube Channel or starring in an upcoming animated movie for The Hub called ‘Stan Lee’s Mighty 7’. And above all that, after he had a hand in creating some of the most beloved superheroes of all time, he’s busy appearing in their movies in a series of cameo roles. Now, his streak of appearing in Marvel projects continues as he sets his sights on the small screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the legendary comic book personality will be appearing on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ later this season. The outlet exclusively released the image above of Lee with showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen and stars Clark Gregg and Elizabeth Henstridge. In addition to serving as an executive producer on the show, he’s set to appear on the February 4th episode of ABC’s super-powered drama in a “big role”. There’s no word on what this role will entail, but if this photo is from set, he certainly looks pretty important with his ascot.

Over the years, Lee has cameoed in a number of Marvel-related movies. Besides all the Marvel Studios films to date, he has also appeared in ‘Daredevil’, ‘Hulk’, the ‘Fantastic Four’ films, and both Sam Raimi and Marc Webb’s Spider-Man movies. He also has a very memorable conversation with Jason Lee in Kevin Smith’s ‘Mallrats’ about love and superhero sex organs. In addition to those roles, he’s appeared in some Marvel animated series as well such as ‘Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends’, ‘The Super Hero Squad Show’, and ‘Ultimate Spider-Man’. There are even some non-Marvel animated entries on his resume as well since he’s been seen on ‘Muppet Babies’ and ‘The Simpsons’ and more over the years.

Stan’s appearance on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ marks the first time that he’ll be appearing in the flesh for a Marvel TV show, but he’s been around the medium before. He has popped up on a number of different shows over the years including ‘Comic Book Men‘, ‘The Big Bang Theory’, ‘The Guild’, ‘Chuck’, ‘Entourage’, and ‘Heroes’.
