Earlier this week, we were given more insight into what to expect when Ultron takes over next month during the events of ‘Age of Ultron’ thanks to a teaser trailer for the event.  Though the trailer only covered the beginning of the event, it’s still pretty clear that lasting impressions will be left when the dust clears on this one. However, to what degree? The solicitations for issues seven and eight have recently been released and they hint at a pretty big impression that could be left once ‘Age of Ultron’ is over.

Before I continue, it’s probably worth noting that there are SPOILERS ahead, so don’t read on if you’re not into that sort of thing.

Comic Book Movie revealed that Wolverine and the Invisible Woman will travel back in time in order to prevent the events of ‘Age of Ultron’ from even happening, and according to the solicits, their mission to stop the android potentially results in the creation of an all new Marvel Universe. Check out the unlettered covers of the issues along with their descriptions below and think about how it sounds to you:

AGE OF ULTRON #7

In an attempt to defeat Ultron two Marvel Heroes take it upon themselves to create an all-new Marvel Universe. But is the one they have created better or worse than the one they left behind? The event of the year just got INSANE!!

AGE OF ULTRON #8

With the Marvel Universe turned inside out, who will take responsibility for breaking the world? And is there any way to put it back? Wait until you see who is in charge of the new world order and how they got there…! A reality-spanning choice is made this issue that will affect the Marvel Universe for years and years to come.

Sure, the wording may indicate a new universe being formed, but CBM throws around the phrase “reboot in the style of DC’s New 52”. I don’t things will go that far, especially since the Marvel NOW relaunch happened not so long ago. If anything, they may just create another alternate reality like Earth-311 (the ‘Marvel 1602’ universe) or Earth-58163 (the ‘House of M’ universe) or Earth-295 (the ‘Age of Apocalypse’ universe). There is the option of Marvel creating a whole new imprint like their Ultimates Universe, but I don’t see that happening. It’s possible, but previous descriptions of the event make it pretty clear that this is happening in the main Marvel continuum. Or is it? We’ll just have to wait and see until the crossover starts next month.

While issues 7 & 8 come out in May, ‘Age of Ultron’ begins with issue 1 on March 6, 2013.
