‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ was a terrible movie. The writers veered so far from the source material that it wasn’t even a turn-off-your-brain-and-enjoy-it kind of movie. The powers that be even saw fit to kill off some major X-Men characters. That said, I won’t fault the movie since it did lead to the franchise being rebooted with the absolutely spectacular ‘X-Men: First Class’.

Ever since the ‘First Class’ sequel was given the official title of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, fans have been wondering if Marvel was going to find a way to resurrect those characters that were killed and bring the original ‘X-Men’ actors back into the mix. Since the storyline of ‘Day of Future Past’ is based on the comic story line of the same name and it involves time travel, that is a possibility.

Those fan hopes were raised recently when Sir Patrick Stewart hinted at his return to the role of Professor Xavier in the next film. And now, Famke Janssen is fanning the flames as well. In a recent interview with MTV, Janssen was asked about a possible return to her role as Jean Grey. Janssen was coy about her answers but said that “one never knows” and that X-Men fans should “stay tuned”.

I guess we’ll find out more as ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ continues it production in anticipation of its 2014 release. For now, check out the interview with Janssen by clicking on the image below…

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ is set to be released on July 18, 2014.
