In what seems to be a team that only Marvel could assemble together, it’s being reported that J.J. Abrams, Edgar Wright, and Mark Protosevich have joined forces to produce a sci-fi feature film called ‘Collider.’
With Abrams involved (he will be co-producing the project under his ‘Bad Robot’ company with Wright), not much about the project is known. What is known is that the project is the brain child of Wright who will be co-writing the script with sci-fi scribe Protosevich. Protosevich, you may recall, wrote the scripts for ‘I am Legend,’ ‘The Cell,’ ‘Thor’, the upcoming ‘Mass Effect’ movie, and a treatment script for ‘Jurassic Park 4.’ Not only will Wright help with the screenplay but he has also agreed to direct the film!
Although the news sounds exciting, it may be a while before we actually see ‘Collider’ begin production. With Wright in the midst of pre-production on the sci-fi comedy ‘The World’s End’ which is scheduled to begin filming in October, and ‘Ant Man’ and ‘The Night Stalker’ already in development, it looks like Wright’s directing plate is filled for the time being.
I wish we were able to give you more information about ‘Collider’ but you know Abrams – the guy does know how to keep a secret!
Anyway, with what little news we do have about this project is still exciting, don’t you think?
