A few months back, it was announced that Lily Collins of the better of the two Snow White movies this year ‘Mirror Mirror’ would be starring in the film adaptation of young adult sci-fi fantasy series ‘The Mortal Instruments’ by Cassandra Clare. With principal photography beginning on August 15th in Toronto, the cast is starting to come together for the film version of the first book in the series titled ‘City of Bones’. Aside from Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower and Jemima West were previously cast, and now two more actors are joining the fray.

According to Variety (via Coming Soon), Kevin Durand from ‘Real Steel’ and ‘I Am Number Four’ and Robert Maillet from Guy Ritchie’s ‘Sherlock Holmes’ will be joining the cast as villains named Pangborn and Blackwell. If there are any wrestling fans from the 90s out there like me, you’ll recognize Maillet as Kurrgan from The Truth Commission and The Oddities, that crazy collection of wrestlers that included the Insane Clown Posse.

Directed by ‘The Karate Kid’ director Harald Zwart, ‘The Mortal Instruments’ follows a New York City teen who possesses the powers of Shadowhunters, a secret class of half-angel warriors that protects our world from demons. After a man named Valentine kidnaps her mother, she teams up with Shadowhunters to find a powerful tool known as the Mortal Cup to save her mother from peril.
