Hot on the heels of the photos and video from the set of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ we presented earlier today, we now have some images of the set from the other half of the world’s finest superhero team… Superman!
Zach Snyder’s ‘Man of Steel’ isn’t hitting theaters for another couple of years but filming is well underway in Illinois, which is appropriate since Metropolis, Illinois is home to the Superman Museum. Today, a series of photos were released via the Man of Steel Facebook page. In these photos, we get a glimpse of the town of Smallville, complete with the Kent farm, what appears to be the main street and even an IHOP.
Not much is known about the plot of the film but we do know that it includes Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire) as the villain General Zod. Here’s to hoping that with a realvillain like Zod, that ‘Man of Steel’ is less of a lame origin story with a kryptonite-powered villain and more of the epic action film that Superman fans have been begging for. We sure didn’t get it with the should-have-been-better snooze fest that was ‘Superman Returns’.
