Are you a fan of zombies?  Apparently, you’re not the only one who’s fond of these fiendish flesh eaters.  MGH, an integrated marketing communications agency, recently announced that it has become the first agency in the world to launch a marketing division solely dedicated to zombies. Additionally, it has added its first zombie-focused client: ‘Run for Your Lives,’ the first-ever 5K zombie-filled obstacle course race and scavenger hunt, developed by Bel Air, Md.-based Reed Street Productions llc. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

MGH’s new division is designed to reach zombie enthusiasts, as well as help businesses target the sometimes elusive, and often dangerous, zombie audience. Additionally, MGH will offer marketing support to individuals and companies, which have developed products and services in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Scientific experts project that 80 to 90 percent of the population could become zombies in the event of an outbreak, making this a rapidly growing and highly underserved market. MGH’s unique division will provide these businesses with a full suite of services, including but not limited to, advertising, social media, interactive marketing and public relations.

‘Run For Your Lives’ is a first-of-its-kind race in which runners will navigate a series of 10 obstacles over a 5K course, while avoiding zombies and making strategic choices to find the quickest route to the finish line. The race, put on by Reed Street Productions, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 22 in Darlington, MD. Survivors will be able to celebrate completing the race at the Apocalypse Party, featuring live entertainment, music, local celebrities, vendors, food and beer.

“With experts predicting that the zombie apocalypse could happen as soon as next year, we launched our new marketing division to ensure that businesses of all kind are able to successfully target this audience,” said Andy Malis, president of MGH. “At MGH, we’re always on the cutting edge of what’s next with marketing, and we anticipate that the next big thing is zombies.”
