“The multiverse. Every existence multiplied by possibility and spread out in infinite measure. Now, there is a malevolent force at work. One driven by a singular purpose: The destruction of all there is.”

The voice of the Monitor introduces the second trailer for ‘Crisis On Infinite Earths’, the 4-night mega crossover spanning the five Arrowverse shows.

“The Crisis on Infinite Earths television event begins Sunday, December 8, at 8/7c (Supergirl), then continues on Monday, December 9, at 8/7c (Batwoman); Tuesday, December 10, at 8/7c (The Flash); and ends on Tuesday, January 14, with Arrow at 8/7c and then Legends of Tomorrow at 9/8c.”

Well, this is shaping up to be a big one, folks! Goodness! The trailer sets up the mission of the heroes: To recruit seven superheroes “across space and time” who can tip the scales in this battle of multiversal proportions! I will not spoil who the suspected villain is, but if the crossover is inspired by the source material, there is sure to be some drama and lots of heroic deaths!

The crossover promises to deliver on the action as we have powerhouses from Earth-1, Earth-38 and countless other Earths appearing. Will a superhero have to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to save the multiverse?

In the trailer, the Monitor introduces the conflict and mobilizes the heroes for the crisis at hand. The heroes are introduced, some like Green Arrow reunited to loved ones, others like Supergirl witness the destruction of Argo. The Flash is teased as possibly making a sacrifice in order to save Earth-38 or is he running after the Reverse-Flash? The superheroes are brought to Earth-38 inside the D.E.O. by Lila Michaels/Harbinger, home of its greatest heroes Superman and Supergirl, in order to make their stand against the ultimate threat!

There are some variations from the source material. Batwoman meets Kevin Conroy as we are introduced to a ‘Kingdom Come’-inspired Batman in his exo-suit armor, possibly pointing to the destruction of Wayne Manor as in the comics. Did ‘Kingdom Come’ somehow influence the absence of Batman and are we to witness a darker version of Superman?

And who could the ultimate threat be? Why does the Monitor want to recruit these specific seven superheroes? We will find out!

A mysterious force is erasing the planets in the multiverse with an anti-matter wave. In order to save the multiverse, the Monitor recruits the following heroes on a mission to save the multiverse:

“The multiverse’s best and most capable heroes — Arrow (Stephen Amell), The Flash (Grant Gustin), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Batwoman (Ruby Rose), Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), and the Legends of Tomorrow led by White Canary (Caity Lotz) — are informed that their ranks must expand if they’re going to stand a chance of defeating whatever is attacking the multiverse.”

Who might those extra heroes be? Well, I will let you find out from watching the trailer, as three of them already appear in it:
