Daniel Wu, Hugh Jackman, And Rebecca Ferguson Are All Coming Together For A 'Reminiscence'

Lisa Joy, the co-creator of ‘Westworld’ is going to be making a huge splash with her feature film debut. Casting for her movie ‘Reminiscence’ has lined up some serious star power with Daniel Wu (‘Into the Badlands’,’Tombraider’), Hugh Jackman (‘Logan’,’The Greatest Showman’), and Rebecca Ferguson (‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’,’Men in Black: International’)! Not only is Joy directing the film but she is responsible for the script which was a huge hit on the Black List.

“I know exactly what I want this to be, including all of the action set pieces, and turning Miami into a sunken world. Working on Westworld has been an incredible experience in learning to make something with the scope of a feature on a TV timeline with a budget nowhere near what you would expect for a feature film equivalent.”

As to how we’ll see her talent in front of the camera, the movie is going to be an updated take on classic noir tropes and will take place “in a dangerous, near-future Miami beset by climate change woes — overheated, flooded, and always at night.” The movie will have Jackson playing “a private eye who travels into the memories of clients to figure out cases.” Ferguson will be “a client who’s hiding more than meets her brain’s eye,” while Wu is “the central antagonist to Jackman, who presents a sense of danger to him while sharing his love for Ferguson’s character.”

We’ll easily see Wu and Jackman tearing into each other in the film. With Ferguson’s character hiding something, you know that will play out as a significant part of the plot as well.

Do you like the sound of ‘Reminiscence’ from what we can glean from the three main character descriptions? Will Lisa Joy be able to delivery a plot in a single film that is just as immersive as ‘Westworld’ has been? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
