X-Men #1Jonathan Hickman has revitalized the “X-Men” brand with his runs on ‘House of X’ and ‘Powers of X’ and now we’re getting our first look into the soon to be launched ‘X-Men’ #1! The trailer includes Hickman as well as Editor in-Chief C.B. Cebulski and Senior Editor Jordan D. White who are highly praising what is to come. We know from the prelude titles that “A new dawn has broken for mutantkind, and their current status quo has sent reverberations around the globe!”

I’m not going to lie, I’m digging the cover for the upcoming release that we’ve got here, but everything about this “X-Men” relaunch so far has been hitting all the right notes to keep me coming back for more.

In the new book, Marvel Comics has shared a little of what we can expect with the following tease:

The island nation of Krakoa is firmly established, and the X-Men are finally free to truly forge their own path in the world. All mutants are living under one flag – and any of them can be called upon to be an X-Man! With a rotating cast of characters, both heroic and villainous, mainstays, fan-favorites, and obscurities alike will all have their chance to shine!

According to White, about the author of this series: “Jonathan is one of the most skilled writers in the comic book industry for sure. He comes up with enormous ideas, and he is incredibly good at executing them perfectly on the page.”

Hickman himself wanted to praise the artist sharing that, “[Series artist Leinil Francis Yu] is a phenomenal talent. He has an incredible eye: staging is wonderful; his character designs are cool. I love working with him. He’s fantastic.”
