Lupita Nyong’o

Hulu has dropped a new (NSFW) red-band trailer for its upcoming horror-comedy film ‘Little Monsters’ starring ‘Black Panther’s’ Lupita Nyong’o. Though it shares the same name of the 1989 film that starred Fred Savage, no, it is not yet another remake. THANK GOD. Lupita plays an elementary schoolteacher who takes her students on a trip to a petting zoo along with her co-chaperone (Alexander England). Things take a turn when there is a zombie outbreak, which causes them to go into survival mode to keep the children and themselves safe from the flesh-eating undead.

Here’s a look at the trailer:

While the trailer shows a plethora of gore, violence, and music, it emphasizes the lightheartedness and comedic elements of the film which creates a charming energy throughout. A great reason for this is Josh Gad of 2017’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ who also stars as a famous children’s show personality who is also present during the field trip when the sudden zombie epidemic occurs. The on-screen chemistry between Gad, Nyong’o, and England lends to the comic relief and overall charisma.

The official synopsis for ‘Little Monsters’ is below:

‘LITTLE MONSTERS’ follows Dave (Alexander England), a washed-up musician who volunteers to chaperone his nephew’s kindergarten class field trip after taking a serious liking to the fearless schoolteacher, Miss Caroline (Lupita Nyong’o). Dave’s intentions are complicated by the presence of the world’s most famous kids’ show personality and competition for Miss Caroline’s affections, Teddy McGiggle (Josh Gad). One thing none of them bargained for, however, is a sudden zombie outbreak. Will Dave rise to the occasion and have a chance at Miss Caroline’s heart, or will the zombies get there first?

‘Little Monsters’ is directed by Abe Forsythe and comes out in theaters on November 15th.
