Ruby Rose took to Instagram late Thursday night to break the news that she was stuck in Vancouver, where ‘Batwoman’ is being filmed. It appears she is in the middle of a particularly “ambitious episode” and wouldn’t be able to fly in for the ‘Batwoman’ panel on Saturday morning, where the pilot episode is to be screened for the first time. Rose expressed that she is “devastated” at missing the event, and states that she was expecting to speak at two panels.

In her words:
“I’m not going to be there, which stinks, a lot. But just know that we tried everything that we could humanly to be there. It wasn’t until really now that we realized there wasn’t any other way to finish this episode, this ambitious episode that we’re doing, and create this amazing show that really is special.
“We want you to love it and be proud of it, and be entertained and to laugh and to cry and to be empowered. And that means that in this particular instance, I got to work and bring Kate Kane, Batwoman to the screen.”

Presumably, the ‘Batwoman’ panel will still go on. It takes place tomorrow, Saturday, July 20, at 10:30–11:45 am in Ballroom 20. It wasn’t announced who else would be present at the panel, but it’s pretty much a given that Rose wasn’t going to be the only representative of the show present.
