Spider-Man And Venom Movie Is "Likely," But Depends On Sony

We’ve heard countless theories that there could be a future where Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man teamed up with or fought against Tom Hardy’s Venom and now it seems even more likely to happen. While Sony owns the rights to both characters, getting both Toms to share screen time should sound easy but would actually be difficult without either removing Peter Parker from the Marvel Cinematic Universe or finding a way for Venom actually to be part of it.

However, Kevin Feige feels that it is “likely” such a crossover could happen and that it just depends on Sony. With fans loving Holland as The Wallcrawler and ‘Venom’ pulling in $855 million at the box office it feels that the two might want to find a way to work together.

The question of these two sharing screen time came up at the press event for ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home‘ where Feige shared that:

“I think probably it’s up to Sony. Sony has both those characters and, has Venom in their world. I don’t know what their plans are for another Venom or if they’re doing that. But it seems likely at some point.”

With the future of Spider-Man a mystery due to the deal between Sony and Marvel Studios on the verge of coming to an end, it seems that Sony might want to find a way to leverage their properties either for their own gain or to tie all of their plans into the MCU. Either way, hopefully, they work this out before the ‘Venom’ sequel gets too far into development to lay the groundwork for whatever they have planned.

Only time will tell.

Would you like to see Tom Hardy’s Venom become part of the MCU or would you prefer Tom Holland’s Spider-Man be transported to a parallel Earth where Venom exists unless the studio outright rebooted the character? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
